The Paris Metro is much more than just a public service, and if you manage to skip rush hour and dodgy homeless people, it can be quite enjoyable. From the ubiquitous musicians cranking out hackneyed renditions of "La Vie en Rose" to people in costume, there is no such thing as a dull ride on the underground. I've rounded up some pictures of the most beautiful Paris metro stations.
My favorite is the Arts et Metiers stop - obviously! I'm a huge Jules Verne fan, and the station was inspired by some of his stories and the accompanying illustrations. When your train pulls into the station, you feel like you stepped into a submarine.
