The last of my pictures from Delhi. I stayed in Hauz Khas village, which is a bohemian enclave next to a lake. Clusters of medieval buildings sit around the edge of the lake, providing the perfect setting for a playground, hang-out spot, and place to drink coffee in peace.
One day I went to visit Jantar Mantar (the astrology complex), but was disappointed to see that it wasn't nearly as well-maintained as the one that I saw in Jaipur. They're both around five hundred years old, and they were both built by the same architect. It's impressive that they are both still intact, when you think of how much turmoil and strife India has gone through. After visiting Jantar Mantar, I got swept up in a political strike, which could have ended badly, but ended very well...with street food. Yum.
