Kumily was one of my favorite towns in India. The tiger reserve was lovely, even though a tiger sighting is incredibly unlikely - most of the guides who work there haven't even seen a tiger themselves.
My hotel guide suggested I take a boat safari through the reserve, warning me that I would have to get to the park early. "Six a.m., if you want to get a ticket," he said. I thought he was exaggerating until I got to the park and saw that there was an hour-long line ahead of me.
The boat ride was pleasant, but we didn't see that much wildlife. There was a minor uproar when someone spotted wild pigs off the side of the boat, and everyone left their seats to get a better view.
