The Blue City

Jodhpur, India

I have some big news!  It's very exciting and it pertains to a minor catastrophe that happened back in January.  My computer threw a tantrum and swallowed iPhoto, effectively destroying 80,000 photos, some of which dated back to 2011.

I finally managed to do some dredging and spent an hour on the phone with a Mac specialist, and so now I can bring you two cities (Jodhpur and Udaipur) which had previously been lost in iPhoto limbo.  These photos are from a few months ago.

The buildings in Jodhpur are painted with indigo paint, which is a natural bug repellant.  The paint and its effects can last for decades, and it's a really beautiful sight to see all the buildings rise against the hill.  The Mehrangarh Fort sits on top of the hill, and it has belonged to an Indian Royal family for centuries.  I really enjoyed my five days in Jodhpur, and seeing these photos brings it all back for me.

Enjoy!
