Udaipur was one of my favorite cities in India. Perched on the edge of a wide lake, the city is especially beautiful at sunset, when the white walls of all the buildings catch the dying rays of light and glow against their own reflections. I spent five days there, which wasn't nearly enough time.
My favorite thing about Udaipur was the fact that you could walk freely throughout the city at nighttime, which is discouraged for women in other cities. The nights were almost always warm, and it was fun to sit with friends on rooftops and watch boats glide through the canals that led to the lake.
